"May Love Grow Here Now and Forever."
For current information about Christ Our Savior Catholic School Click here
Welcome to our Church. We are a very culturally rich and diverse community, united as one family Calumet City, Illinois, twenty minutes from downtown Chicago. Through the various organizations, ministries and programs of our school and church, we grow, learn, socialize and teach one another. Through our worship and celebrations as a faith community, we grow in the love of Jesus Christ.
Our Church has been and will be a guiding light as we enter into this new millennium. God has blessed us in countless ways, but especially through individuals and families that compose our parish. With the grace of God through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the love of Christ may we journey together as a light of faith, hope and love for one another, our families and our communities.
The parishes in Calumet City, South Holland and Riverdale decided to close our individual schools that experienced declining enrollment and lower available subsidies and open a new school that we could jointly support. This joint venture would make it possible for Catholic Education to continue as a joint venture in the Southeast suburbs. The new school with 2 sites is Christ Our Savior Catholic School. Sincerely,
Rev. Patrick M. Lyons
Pastor
Christ Our Savior Catholic School will stand as a most powerful sign of the future life and capability of our Catholic faith. In a spirit of freedom, mutual respect and love, we are actively involved in a continuous process of forming a Christian educational community.
The ultimate goal of this new school sponsored by Our Lady of Knock, St. Victor, St. Andrew (in Calumet City), St. Jude and Holy Ghost (in South Holland), and St. Mary/Queen of Apostles (Riverdale) is to prepare our graduates that they may grow to become apostles themselves and thereby serve...with conviction and competence...each other as Jesus did.
